Rust Softcore Raid Windows: Official Defaults and Protection Rules
Facepunch published Rust's Common Ground update on July 2, 2026. The update added raid windows and a 2x gathering rate to Softcore mode.
Default raid window
The default Softcore raid window runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM according to the server's local time. During that window, Facepunch describes raiding as operating under regular Rust rules.
Server operators should therefore verify the server host's local time before publishing a schedule. When planning how to present the schedule to players, operators can also compare Rust servers on Rust You.
Protection outside raid hours
Outside the window, Tool Cupboards project raid protection within their radius. The protection prevents raiding of building blocks and doors, including walls, floors, roofs, doors, and ladder hatches.
Deployables remain attackable outside the window, and an exposed Tool Cupboard can also be attacked. A Tool Cupboard must be at least one hour old before it can provide raid protection.
Gathering and configuration
Softcore's 2x gathering rate applies to ore, wood, food, and animal loot. Facepunch also states that server owners have ConVars for adjusting the raid-window system.
